Week 6 Preview

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans

The Steelers have struggled so far this season, barely beating the Philadelphia Eagles and beating the struggling New York Jets, both at home. They are 0-2 on the road and still seem to be adapting to offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Injuries on the defensive side of the ball have hurt them a bit as well, but they are in for a game they should easily take care of. The Titans have struggled mightily in their run game, and their defense hasn't stopped anyone. This should be the Steelers first road win of the season.

Oakland Raiders vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are undefeated at 5-0, and have a home game against the lowly Raiders. This smells like an easy win for the mighty Falcons. The Falcons almost slipped up to the lowly Carolina Panthers, so that should be a teaching tool to help them put the Raiders away early. Simply put, QB Carson Palmer has not been the quarterback the Raiders wanted when they decided to give the Cincinnati Bengals all kinds of draft picks for him in a trade.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Cowboys offense has looked surprisingly unimpressive, but the Ravens defense has looked the same as well. However, the Ravens defense is still a defense that can create turnovers. S Ed Reed will be back there waiting on opportunities from QB Tony Romo. The Cowboys are entering a tough stretch in their schedule starting with this game. This can determine whether Jerry Jones will clean house after the season.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns

The Browns were surprising many people when they jumped out to a 14-0 lead on the road against the defending champion New York Giants. They quickly faded after to no one's surprise. The Bengals surprisingly lost a home game to the Miami Dolphins, and this is a division rivalry within the state of Ohio. This is looking like the Browns best chance to win their first game of the season. I think they'll get it.

St. Louis Rams vs. Miami Dolphins

Some would say the Rams got an impressive victory last Thursday against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals, but others predicted the Rams to get the victory. The Dolphins got a somewhat impressive victory on the road against the Bengals last week, so they should be looking to get to .500 with a home victory against a below average Rams football team.

New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez.
Indianapolis Colts vs. New York Jets

The Jets are playing in their third consecutive home game and they lost the first two to the mighty San Francisco 49ers and mighty Houston Texans. This is a much more manageable game and the Jets should be looking to seize on their opportunity. The Colts are coming off an emotional win against the Green Bay Packers. Some are expecting a letdown of sorts this Sunday, while others expect the Colts to continue competing hard for Chuck Pagano.

Detroit Lions vs. Philadelphia Eagles

An anonymous GM said the Lions were overrated. That didn't sit well with a couple of players. At 1-3 going into Philadelphia, they probably don't have time to be thinking about that GM unless they want to turn it into motivation. The bye week may have helped the Lions, but they'll have to put a good product on the field. Eagles QB Michael Vick continues to turn the ball over but he shouldn't have a problem in this game. The Lions defense has done absolutely nothing to create any turnovers.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Both offenses have been so inept and miserable on offense, this game could turn out to be a snoozer. Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman has not shown the ability to drop back and throw with accuracy beyond 15 yards. Everything in their passing game is short, despite having a big play threat in WR Vincent Jackson. Chiefs QB Matt Cassel has just been awful to the point where his hometown fans booed him after he was injured. It doesn't matter if Cassel or backup QB Brady Quinn plays. Both of them are awful.

Buffalo Bills vs. Arizona Cardinals

I wonder if the Bills stayed on the West Coast for the week after their game against the San Francisco 49ers. Maybe they wanted to go back to their families in Buffalo instead, seeing they got demolished 45-3. They have a more manageable matchup against the Cardinals, but it won't be easy either. The Bills have been a puzzle, looking solid in their wins but looking awful in their losses. What will it be this Sunday?

New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks

Playing in Seattle is very difficult, but I don't think it matters to an offense like the Patriots. They will most likely go back to the no-huddle offense that worked very well this past Sunday against the Denver Broncos. As long as the Patriots are on the same page offensively, they should be able to score some points. The Seahawks defense isn't easy however. They have two big, excellent corners in CB Brandon Browner and CB Richard Sherman. However, I don't think neither will be too successful covering WR Wes Welker in the slot.

San Francisco 49ers QB Alex Smith.
New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers

In a rematch of the NFC Championship Game, this game can still go either way. Clearly, the 49ers have played better up to this point, but as we all know, that doesn't matter with the Giants. We don't quite know what we'll get from the Giants, but they have the tools necessary to beat the 49ers. The 49ers are motivated however, and that might make the difference.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Washington Redskins

Let's see if Redskins QB Robert Griffin III will play this Sunday. This game is also interesting because the Vikings are 4-1, including an impressive home win against the 49ers. However, they have yet to win in a tough environment. FedEx Field isn't necessarily a tough environment, but playing against Griffin III and their dynamic offense can be a problem for the Vikings.

Green Bay Packers vs. Houston Texans

This Sunday night matchup was looked at in the beginning of the season as an excellent matchup between two Super Bowl contenders, but many would've thought the Packers would be better than the Texans at this point. That has not been the case, as the Texans defense has been very impressive. QB Matt Schaub is managing the game well on offense, with a balanced rushing attack. The Packers can go into Reliant Stadium and win this game, but it will be hard.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning.
Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers

This AFC West divisional battle is an intriguing one because both teams are coming off of devastating losses. Both teams also appear to be the cream of the crop in that division, as the Raiders and Chiefs have been abysmal. Going into San Diego and getting a win is certainly possible for Broncos QB Peyton Manning and the team, but it won't come easy. If only Chargers QB Philip Rivers had more weapons to work with and the Chargers defense were better, they would've had a chance at this game and the division at the end of the season. I can't see it though.
