Week 15 Preview

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles
NFL Network -- Brad Nessler, Mike Mayock
Thursday December 13, 2012 8:20pm

The Bengals had a home game this past Sunday against the Cowboys and the Eagles had a road game against the Buccaneers. The way both teams have been playing, no one would've thought the Bengals would've been the team losing while the Eagles came out victors. That's exactly how it happened, so the Bengals will be looking to bounce back in Lincoln Financial Field with their season on the line a little bit. They are tied with the Steelers for the final AFC Wild Card spot. The Eagles have nothing to play for, but QB Nick Foles wants to continue to play well to prove something to management.

New York Giants vs. Atlanta Falcons
FOX -- Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

This is easily the biggest game of Week 15. These are two teams who met in the playoffs last year, and it wasn't pretty for the Falcons. They're probably looking for a little revenge. However, the Giants have a lot more to play for than to just prove they're still better than the Falcons. The Giants will most likely have to win out to win the NFC East. Many people say this is the position the Giants want to be in. In 2010, they were in that position as well, and got routed by the Packers in Lambeau Field. Don't always rely on history.

Denver Broncos vs. Baltimore Ravens
CBS -- Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

The Ravens are in a little bit of trouble, and they showed it by firing offensive coordinator Cam Cameron. The Ravens are 9-4, and they play the Giants after this game. The Ravens could very well lose both, at home, and drop to 9-6. That'll make things a lot more interesting in the AFC North. The Steelers and Bengals are both 7-6, so two consecutive wins from either team and two consecutive losses for the Ravens will tie up the division, which seemed impossible earlier.

Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears
FOX -- Joe Buck, Troy Aikman
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

It once appeared the Bears had a huge lead in the NFC North, and were locks to get in the playoffs either by winning their division or by a Wild Card berth. However, both are in jeopardy, and this game makes it tougher for the Bears. The Bears now hold the final Wild Card spot at 8-5, and the Cowboys and Redskins are breathing down their necks just a game behind them. The Bears played the Packers in Lambeau Field in Week 2, and it was downright ugly. Bears QB Jay Cutler is going to have to figure this out, or the Bears will continue their freefall.

Washington Redskins vs. Cleveland Browns
FOX -- Ron Pitts, Mike Martz
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

This game can be a little tricky. The Redskins are obviously better than the Browns, but the Browns have played everyone tough this year, even in their losses. If the Redskins don't exercise caution, this can be a damaging upset. The offense will continue to get the job done, as Redskins QB Robert Griffin III will not let his guard down. However, this Redskins defense should be able to handle the Browns offense. However, they will have a letdown and this game will be closer than what it should be.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans
CBS -- Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

This is a battle between the top two AFC South teams, and this gets interesting as well. After the Texans' loss this past Monday, the Colts still have a chance to win this division. The Colts play the Texans twice in the final three weeks, so if the Colts can win this Sunday, they will have a chance to capture the division crown on the final weekend of the season. Are the Colts tough enough to pull this off? They certainly have a humble quarterback and a pretty accurate one. However, the Colts aren't that good. Just not yet.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins
CBS -- Marv Albert, Rich Gannon
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

This is a battle between the two Florida AFC teams, and this is a lost season for both teams. The Dolphins have been competitive when not expected, however, and QB Ryan Tannehill has played better than I expected this season. The Dolphins might have a franchise quarterback they can have for years and pull them from the bottom of AFC East. This is the perfect time. Patriots QB Tom Brady has to go sometime soon.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints
FOX -- Thom Brennaman, Brian Billick
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

The Buccaneers blew a big opportunity to keep pace for the final NFC Wild Card spot, so now they have to win out and hope in order for them to make it. It will not be easy going into the Superdome and trying to get a win. Even though this is a lost season for the Saints, they still have a very dangerous offense. This might quickly turn into a lost season for the Buccaneers as well after this game.

Minnesota Vikings vs. St. Louis Rams
FOX -- Gus Johnson, Charles Davis
Sunday December 16, 2012 1pm

This is surprisingly an important game for both teams. The Rams have crept their way into the playoff race with three consecutive wins, and the Vikings got a big win this past Sunday against the Bears. This game will definitely be damaging for the loser, so both teams will need to come with their A game. Vikings QB Christian Ponder will need to cut out the mistakes in this game. RB Adrian Peterson is running wild and racking up yards, so Ponder needs to be efficient.

Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals
FOX -- Chris Myers, Tim Ryan
Sunday December 16, 2012 4:05pm

Both teams have played the most disappointing football in the past month. The Cardinals have played the most disappointing football since September, when they last won a football game. It got very ugly this past Sunday when they couldn't even score a point against the Seahawks. Even worse, they gave up 58 points. The 58-point margin of victory for the Seahawks was the worse in Cardinals' history, prompting WR Larry Fitzgerald's father to say the Cardinals quit. Fitzgerald disputed his father's claims, but it's real ugly in Arizona. I don't think they can win another game.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Buffalo Bills
FOX -- Dick Stockton, John Lynch
Sunday December 16, 2012 4:05pm

This game will be played up in Toronto, as the Bills try to extend its fan base a little. This is a trap game for the Seahawks. They have been solid all year, and have especially played good football lately. However, they haven't really played well on the road and the Bills are no pushover. Sure, the Bills are 5-8 and are most likely going to miss the playoffs yet again. However, when QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing well, the Bills offense can really score. Seahawks QB Russell Wilson needs to play like he did in Soldier Field to get the win.

Carolina Panthers vs. San Diego Chargers
FOX -- Sam Rosen, Heath Evans
Sunday December 16, 2012 4:05pm

This is a lost season for both teams, but they each collected a solid victory this past Sunday. It's probably inevitable, however, that coaching changes will occur for these two teams once the season is over. Both teams came in with solid expectations, and both failed miserably to live up to them. Let's see what happens in the offseason.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders
CBS -- Kevin Harlan, Solomon Wilcots
Sunday December 16, 2012 4:25pm

This rivalry was once something fantastic to watch. Not this year. Both teams just want to get to the end of the season so they can clear their minds and regroup. The Chiefs definitely need it after the whirlwind season they've been through. There is still a game to be played however. While both teams are bad, I believe the Raiders are slightly better.

QB Ben Roethlisberger looks to bounce back in Arlington.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Dallas Cowboys
CBS -- Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
Sunday December 16, 2012 4:25pm

The Steelers played their worst game of the season last week in a home loss to the Chargers. Now the Steelers have to go into Dallas to win if they want to keep their pace for a Wild Card berth. As mentioned earlier, they can still take the division also. The Cowboys need this win as well to keep pace in the NFC Wild Card race. They can also win the division as well, as the Giants are just a game ahead. Both teams will be playing hard. The better team will win.

Jim Harbaugh will look to outsmart Bill Belichick.
San Francisco 49ers vs. New England Patriots
NBC -- Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth
Sunday December 16, 2012 8:20pm

The Patriots are playing their second consecutive home game in prime time against a Super Bowl contender. I predicted last week the Texans don't have what it takes to beat a team like the Patriots on a big stage. That is not the case for the 49ers. They are very physical and show no fear as well. 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has them playing confident football, so this will be a much better game than what we saw Monday night. Let's see what Patriots QB Tom Brady can do.

New York Jets vs. Tennessee Titans
ESPN -- Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden
Monday December 17, 2012 8:30pm

At 6-7, the Jets are still in this thing. However, it may not even be worth making it to the playoffs because the Jets are barely scraping by bad opponents. This should be another easy game the Jets should win, but they won't do so convincingly. The Jets simply aren't a good football team, and they need to get a lot more weapons on offense and find a more explosive offensive coordinator. Tony Sparano has not been the guy the Jets needed in order for Sanchez to continue to develop.
