2015 NFL Week 13 Preview

Davante Adams could not come down with the two point conversion
to tie the game in their loss to Detroit several weeks ago.
Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions
Thursday December 3, 2015 8:25pm
CBS, NFL Network -- Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
Ford Field, Detroit, MI

The Packers seem to win and lose when you least expect it. For now, many people are expecting the Packers to lose to the Lions given they lost to them a couple of weeks ago in Lambeau Field. Couple that with the fact that the Lions have been winning lately, and this makes for a classic prediction of a Lions' win. However, I believe the Packers will muster up a good enough game to come away with the victory, much like they did in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago after everyone was scratching their head at their recent play.

Victor Cruz put his foot in the ground, turned up the field on Antonio Cromartie
for 99 yards in the famous touchdown four years ago that sparked the Giants Super Bowl run.
New York Jets vs. New York Giants
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
CBS -- Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ

The Giants have owned this matchup as of late, with the Jets last beating the Giants in 1993. The Giants also have two Super Bowl victories in the past eight years, and both of the Giants championships came in seasons when the Giants played and beat the Jets. The Jets appear to be the better team this season, owning a defense with talented players and quality receiving options on the outside for their offense. However, the way the Jets have been playing of late, coupled with the desperation the Giants will need to play with, I think the Giants will scrape one out.

Arizona Cardinals vs. St. Louis Rams
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
FOX -- Chris Myers, Ronde Barber
Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis, MO

The Cardinals have been rolling as of late, and the Cardinals appear to be the second best team in the NFC behind the Panthers. Some even believe the Cardinals are better than the Panthers, as they believe the Panthers have benefitted from an easy schedule. I disagree, and I also believe the Cardinals will be in for a treat here as the Rams will come up with the energy needed to complete the season sweep.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
FOX -- Dick Stockton, David Diehl
Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL

The Falcons are on a four game losing streak and continue to prove to people that their 5-0 start was a fluke. Their start came against the NFC East teams, but they very well could've lost all of those games too. The Falcons are in disarray, whereas the Buccaneers, despite coming off a loss, are on the rise. They're just one game behind the Falcons now after starting 2-4 with a rookie quarterback. I expect the Buccaneers to get a win here and sweep the Falcons. However, if there is any game for the Falcons to wake up and get a win, it's right here.

Russell Wilson had a great game against the Steelers last week. Let's see if he can
duplicate that success on the road against the Vikings.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Minnesota Vikings
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
FOX -- Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch
TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

The Seahawks are fully capable of going into Minneapolis and getting a win. The Seahawks still possess the defensive players needed in order to notch a victory. The Vikings will look to use their home field advantage to get another impressive win. They've been impressive thus far, but they still don't have the quarterback that can take over games when needed. That isn't a knock on Teddy Bridgewater. He's a solid quarterback and should continue to improve over the years. However, against this team, the two time defending NFC Champions, the Vikings will need Bridgewater to be close to his best.

JJ Watt will look to get to Tyrod Taylor in hopes of picking up a big
road win.
Houston Texans vs. Buffalo Bills
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
CBS -- Spero Dedes, Solomon Wilcots
Ralph Wilson Stadium, Buffalo, NY

The Texans are on the rise, while the Bills are on the decline. Still, the Texans aren't good enough to go into Buffalo and get a win. For that reason alone, I'll pick the Bills in this one. However, the Texans are still in position to win the AFC South after being an afterthought just a couple weeks ago. Stellar defensive performances in recent weeks, coupled with the play of quarterback T.J. Yates have propelled the Texans to the top line in the division. However, if the Texans don't get this win, it will be trouble for them. They have the Patriots at home next week, followed by the Colts on the road. They could easily fall right back out of the race.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Miami Dolphins
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
CBS -- Andrew Catalon, Steve Tasker, Steve Beuerlein
Sun Life Stadium, Miami, FL

The Ravens had the most improbable win of the season on Monday night, when the field goal attempt from Travis Coons of the Browns was blocked. It was returned for a touchdown by Will Hill as time expired, giving the Ravens the win. The Ravens won't have such luck here, as the Dolphins will look to seize on an opportunity to get a win against a depleted team. The Dolphins can use any win in a season where great expectations were not met. The Dolphins also fired offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. They clearly believe offense is the problem by getting rid of Lazor and Joe Philbin earlier in the year. Philbin was an offensive coach.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
FOX --  Justin Kutcher, Matt Millen
FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, OH

These two teams played in Cleveland on FOX last December, and it was Johnny Manziel's first NFL start. That game was horrendous, and it proved Manziel is not a quarterback ready for NFL speed. Manziel still hasn't done much to prove he's capable of playing quarterback in the NFL a year later. However, it's his off the field troubles that will keep him out of this game. The Browns won't have Josh McCown either, as he is now out for the season. Figure Austin Davis to be the starter. Davis had his great moments with the Rams a couple of years ago, but I don't expect Davis to lead the Browns to a victory over the Bengals.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
CBS -- Brian Anderson, Chris Simms
LP Field, Nashville, TN

The Jaguars were able to handle the Titans on Thursday Night Football not too long ago, so it's the Titans turn to get a home victory in the division. The Titans are now four games back of the first place Colts and Texans, so the Titans are pretty much done when it comes to acquiring a playoff spot. They're fighting more for the first overall pick than they are a playoff spot, which means you shouldn't be surprised if they take a loss here. I believe they're talented enough to beat the Jaguars at home, but they may not want to be.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Chicago Bears
Sunday December 6, 2015 1:00pm
FOX -- Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston
Soldier Field, Chicago, IL

The Bears have an opportunity to get to .500 with a win over the 49ers at home. This sounds simple enough, especially after getting a win in Lambeau Field on Thanksgiving. The Bears are performing a lot better than many expected. Many people thought the Bears would be in rebuild mode and Jay Cutler would be constantly fighting for his job. Cutler has been decent, and the Bears have bounced back from a bad start to be decent as a team. They may still be on the outside looking in for the playoffs, but at least they're exceeding expectations.

Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers
Sunday December 6, 2015 4:05pm
CBS -- Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon
Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA

The Chargers finally got a win, albeit against a lowly Jaguars team. It doesn't matter though, a win is a win. However, the Chargers are unlikely to get a win here. The Broncos are looking to get wins and keep up with the Patriots, who got their first loss at the hands of the Broncos this past week. It remains to be seen what happens when Peyton Manning gets healthy and ready to play. Will the Broncos stick with Brock Osweiler, who has done a fairly decent job since relieving Peyton Manning a couple weeks ago?

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders
Sunday December 6, 2015 4:05pm
CBS -- Greg Gumbel, Trent Green
O.co Coliseum, Oakland, CA

The Chiefs have a pretty favorable schedule the rest of the season, so there is a chance they can win out. If they win this game here, a place where they lost last year, they can certainly win the remainder of their games. The Raiders have slumped as of late, and what was looking like it could be a playoff appearance has now turned into just trying to win games. The Raiders have a good chance here at home. However, I think the Chiefs will keep things rolling. They should also be motivated from last year, when the Raiders got their first win of the season.

Another blowout loss here could end Chip Kelly's career with the Eagles
earlier than he expects.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots
Sunday December 6, 2015 4:25pm
FOX -- Thom Brenneman, Charles Davis
Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA

It has been a tough time for the Eagles as of late, and they, along with the Giants, have blown numerous opportunities to win games and seize control of the division. After an overtime win against the Cowboys, the Eagles had the Dolphins and Buccaneers at home in their next two. They blew both of those games, in addition to the Thanksgiving game against the Lions in embarrassing fashion. It appears some heads are going to roll at season's end. Look for Chip Kelly to be looking for another job in the offseason.

Carolina Panthers vs. New Orleans Saints
Sunday December 6, 2015 4:25pm
FOX -- Joe Buck, Troy Aikman
Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, LA

The Panthers continue to roll, and they have another opportunity to roll here. Drew Brees still has it in him to dominate offensively, but the Saints are playing against a great defense. Couple that with a horrible Saints defense, and the Panthers should be able to put up points at will. FOX had Joe Buck and Troy Aikman initially covering the Eagles / Patriots game. I'm unsure why they changed to this game, because this game isn't any more entertaining than that game. The Panthers shall win fairly easily.

Carolina Panthers 41 New Orleans Saints 10

Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday December 6, 2015 8:30pm
NBC -- Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth
Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA

Both teams will look to factor into the playoff race, so this game is important. Andrew Luck will not play in this one, so Matt Hasselbeck will have to continue carrying the load in order for the Colts to get another win. The Texans may be losers earlier in the day, so this could be a golden opportunity for the Colts to take the division lead depending on how things play out. The Steelers may be too far out in the division race with the Bengals, but they'll still look to obtain a playoff spot. They should be able to win at home against a mediocre ball club.

Indianapolis Colts 24 Pittsburgh Steelers 31

Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins
Monday December 7, 2015 8:30pm
ESPN -- Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden
FedEx Field, Landover, MD

If Tony Romo were playing, this probably would be a win for the Cowboys. Instead, they'll trot Matt Cassel back out there. Therefore, the Redskins should be able to get this win and keep their lead in the NFC East. This is the first meeting between the two teams this year, so that bodes well for the Redskins. The Cowboys defense are the only reason for hope, but they've given up a ton of narrow leads over the course of the year.

Dallas Cowboys 6 Washington Redskins 20
